A contemplative shooter

Today, several of my friends went for a shooting walk out to another friend’s farm. I love being able to continue chatting without plugs or muffs being required, shooting at clays and targets of opportunity all the while.

    Such a foreign concept to me…..being able to shoot so unencumbered….

    What, is that a 22mag? I never fire my shortest barreled 22 rifle (Marlin model 60 in 22lr) with any hearing protection, even with HV ammo it’s barely more than a puff of smoke and barely louder than a speaking voice. Not sure this picture makes sense if it’s not 22mag.

    Some gun owners discourage idle chit-chat while shooting.

    Shooting guns is far to sacred/serous/solemn of an activity to be enjoyable, fun, and relaxing.

    It’s part of the gun-culture mindset that makes most ranges, to be blunt, suck.
