Just got back from Pennsylvania

Spent a week with Crickett Rifle company, have many new photos. They also have a very interesting new product in the works to be announced later this year, a logical extension of their expertise in precision manufacturing.

I was looking at the Cricket at the LGS and comparing it to a similar sized model from Savage at the same price point (~$180).

The Cricket had a nicer stock by a good margin, but I felt like it Savage bested it machining fit and finish and sights. I did not try the trigger on either, but the sticker on the Savage claimed and Accu-Trigger.

Anyone else do a side-by-side on these kid rifles?

I have an incomplete end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it novel. I got 18 chapters in and discovered my characters were too competent. They were handling the realistic* situations I threw at them without breaking a dramatic sweat.

This young lady looks like she might have the same “problem.”

    * Realistic as in no zombies, etc.

So? I *like* competent characters. Heinlein’s wonderful books are filled with them. So is Rolf Nelson’s new book, which I’d highly recommend.
In other words: go for it.

  3. You were right in my neighborhood then, I only live a few miles from there. I’d apologize for the weather but it’s the best we’ve had in months really.
