    One thing the article doesn’t address: if the upgrade changed the rifling to be compatible with the NATO standard 62 grain SS109/M855 round. (The original FAMAS had a twist rate suitable for 55 gr; French units were the only NATO ones in Afghanistan that needed to use 55 gr ammo.)
