    What revolver?

  2. SMLE says:

    Looks like a MkV Webley.

Too short for a Webley Mk V . It is a .455 Webley & Scott’s revolver, But most likely a Mk I, Mk II ,or Mk III with “bird head” grips. Pre -1900 , and in nice shape for a revolver that old. One of the first “smokeless powder” handguns ever produced, and built like an anvil. A Mk I – Mk III should NEVER be fired with .45 ACP loads as they run about 200 FPS. hotter than the original W&S loading of a 265Gr. soft lead bullet over “cordite” @ 650 FPS with MUCH higher pressures. ALL .45 ACP loads are unsafe in pre-1900 Webley’s revolvers. They should be considered “black powder only” if reloading for them.
