Every so often, I look through old images and find something worth editing. This photo from last year was one such picture.
Sometimes, people from my past reach out and that prompts me to review the archives, finding something editable there. The portraits below date back seven years.
Besides me being a bit better with Photoshop, I think forgetting the original intent of the composition helps with a fresh re-approach to it.
I like the Colt’s Dragoon, but those images are more than a little creepy.
Since no one else is going to point it out; that Dragoon is not primed, thus it is “unloaded” for all intents and purposes.
Also, back in “the day” (the mid 1800s) it would not have been considered wrong, or even unusual, to have one’s finger inside the trigger guard of a single action with the hammer down, being that there’s nothing you could do with your finger, in that scenario, that would be at all dangerous. So; if it meant to be interpreted that the woman is standing “at the ready”, “condition one” with her trusty pistol, then there would be caps on the cones, the finger would be inside the trigger guard, hammer down, and the thumb would be on the hammer spur, thus ready to bring the piece into play.
