Shouldn’t the blade be set AWAY from her forearm?? A sharp bump against it, as shown, could cut her right forearm badly. A tip I learned in “survival school” before going to ‘Nam.
Probably. That’s not her knife, and she was just trying the handle in different positions to see which would be comfortable.
Beautiful young girl! Neat knife. Good technique with the “pink” AR. Is it .223 or .308? Good pic!
.22LR
There are techniques that involve the blade edge facing the user’s arm (and, of course, there are double-edged blades, in which one edge will /always/ face the user’s arm in that sort of grip). Typically, the goal is to hook part of the attacker’s anatomy (eg, neck) between the arm and the blade.
I know pupkus about handling knives (unless it comes to using them in the kitchen). But I think I can confidently assert two things:
1. A girl who’s not afraid of a knife is going to have a bit less trouble getting a date, and;
2. A girl who’s not afraid of a knife is going to have a LOT less trouble with creeps bothering her.
All true. And Tess has many “uncles” who would bring personal hell to any transgressor still alive after her own response.
Given her upbringing, I have no doubt that she would pick well and not gravitate towards creepy or abusive people in the first place.
Олег, а что за нож у девушки?
Flint is right. I’ve taught those techniques as well as many others. The knife she is holding is one of mine. For cqb I like my Hobbit warrior the best in my small knives. As long as it has a secure grip and solid point I’m not to picky on what I use. I consider a filet knife to be one of the most under-utilised antipersonnel knives though.

Great looking Spartan knife!!!
She likes knives?
Who doesn’t? 🙂 Smart lass.
