A friend recently gave me an 870 shotgun. It lacked only a few important details, like the barrel or the intact buttstock. Fortunately, 870 is like an AR15 in terms of parts availability.
A few days later, another friend took a 28″ skeet barrel, chopped it down to 19″ and gave it to me. The same friend brought a Blackhawk forend. In the meantime, Mitch at Mesa Tactical sent Urbino Tactical stock. I asked for the adjustable version because I had a red dot in mind…that was before I realized that the shotgun had no rail for the optics. So I ended up with a Hi-Viz adjustable sight instead — I like being able to regulate the sight to match the point of aim of slugs. The result was a pretty handy shotgun. I am considering adding a +2 extension to the magazine tube, but that would make the gun more front-heavy and harder to control with one hand if necessary.
Since I can’t hold the shotgun and take a picture of it at the same time, I asked a friend to do so. Something tells me that she can hold her own in sweeping hallways clean of intruders even without a formal black belt in gun-fu.
I think my Serbu Super Shorty SBS (not AOW) will work better in a hallway 😀
Theoretically, what would happen if one had a 12 gauge derringer capable of firing a full-size 12 gauge shell.. and actually fired it?
Would that result in a broken wrist?
Not likely — not enough barrel length to develop enough pressure or velocity.
It’d be like firing a full magazine out of a .32 pocket pistol.. I guess.. if it was a buckshot shell.

I have no idea what tripod and self timer you are talking about…never heard of them.
Best not to know. They’re really awkward to use. A tripod and remote control is slightly better, but still … very tedious to get the right result.
I used to post quite a lot at Something Awful back in 2004-2006 when there was a sizeable lriietarban presence, but the ideological demographics of the forums shifted hard, hard left and you’re very likely to be subject to probation/banning if you dare to say anything positive about capitalism nowadays, and if not that you’ll be laughed at by dozens for not believing that socialism and central planning can solve everything. That plus the toxic Internet detective/stalking/doxxing culture that arose out of Helldump/Laissez Faire.TFR (the firearms subforum) used to be OK but the whole forums was totally gripped with Obamania in 2008 and having slight qualms about how Senator Present who’d endorsed a handgun ban might also do something else was dismissed as lunatic paranoia. I imagine some sparks flew when Fast and Furious broke.I really don’t see SA becoming more friendly to limited-government capitalistic viewpoints again anytime soon. One thing I’ve noticed about a number of online communities–apart from students, obviously, people on the dole or who have the luxury of jobs that they can ceaselessly goldbrick online at without penalty are heavily, heavily overrepresented.Also there are some SA/TFR posters that have a personal dislike of Oleg because they think he’s creepy due to some of the photographic work he’s done with slightly-clothed models.

Are there any shotguns where the stock is inline with the barrel, like on AR type rifles?
Yes, MKA19191, KSG and UTS15.
A few thoughts:
Nothing is faster than the ball on a flat sight picture of a vent rib and bead. Remington’s 870 also has the most robust and solid vent rib on the market.
The addition of a +1 extention magazine sets up a 5 shot magazine capacity with virtually none of the extra weight and tube issues of longer extensions.
Very few affordable mechanical devices in this world are as reliable as the 870 platform.
