KSG in use

Looks like fun.

How do manufacturers know an optic will hold up to 12 gauge recoil? Primary Arms, for example, uses a test rig that knocks it about hundreds of cycles with more acceleration and power than 3 inch magnum slugs produce.

That fireball is really close to your model’s fingers ….. Reportedly there have been at least a couple of KSG shooters who have blown off several. An extended muzzle brake plus a high quality vertical fore grip would be mandatory for me before I would risk shooting this shotgun….. JD Spokane WA USA

There’s been one case of a person shooting his own hand when a low-quality vertical foregrip broke. It takes a serious effort otherwise, as the barrel is above the mag tubes and quite a ways from the normal finger position.

I didn’t like it when I shot it. It was to front heavy and to short for my taste. BUT: It would have a real nich as a car SD shotgun, or as an undercover / covert opps. weapon. I would advocate serious weapons training orentined toward that shotgun as the one I shot had some serious built in “kinks”. (The trigger sucked and I could see myself blowing off body parts in the rain/snow or under stress as it would be REAL EASY to lose grip on that slide. )

CORRECTION: I ment to say “forarm” NOT “slide”

    Specs on suit?

I’m not a huge fan of the KSG, but I will say the most fun I have ever had shooting a shotgun was knocking clays out of the sky with an EoTech equipped KSG. The combination of the really handy length and the giant window of the EoTech made it maddeningly (for the people I was shooting against) simple to blow clays away.

I so wanted a KSG and then I examined one. One other complaint I noted is that it seems like the path of the ejected shot shells is aimed right at the pistol grip arm. That would be annoying real fast. No, I have not fired it, but it looks like a legitimate concern.
