    Well, there are different kinds of “mechanics” and different kinds of “fixes”, depending on the problem needing solved.

    The M3 , The full size Uzi, and the PPS43. If I had to carry a chopper they would get the top slot. I actually trained with the M3 back in the 70’s ,and considered it hands down better than the CAR-15.(the CAR’s jammed; A LOT! that’s why the Army took them out of service before 1980) If I had the choice, I’d still rather “go to war” with the M1 Garand or the AK all other things being equal. PS. I tend to call the XM177 and XM177E2 “CAR-15″(that’s what we called them then). They were all the same “shorty” Idea, and they all sucked. The military didn’t even START to get the bugs out of the M16 “shorty’s” until the mid 1990’s. In the 1970’s they were just “jam-O-matics”. Made worse by the pre “anti-tilt” mag’s available back then.
