Oleg,
I would be reluctant to utilize that particular photo. It seems awkward for both of them. The gap between them seems to be caused by the Athena shifting away from the pink AR pointed in the direction of her legs. That’s the appearance, anyway.
I’d be inclined to try it with the AR slung like a single point sling around his neck, so it points more downward. (It’s obviously too short a sling for him) Being plastic, it may be light enough to not be a bother to him. Then, they could stand a bit closer, and look more comfortable.
Ha! Just noticed his dash of purple hair. Her hair tends to draw the eyes away from him.
Raising children gets easier about when they’re 26.
A former Marine called me wanting advice on what kind of gun to start his daughter out on. Petite young lady just getting over a goth phase, never shot before. “Maybe a .380?” I convinced him to buy her a gun class instead.
After a couple of sessions learning on my .38 S&W she was ready to try several of my guns. Kinda thought she might like a .38 if she could get a barrel longer than 4″. Other guns; one was to little, one was too big, one felt wrong, etc.
Then she absolutely fell in love with my Colt Government Model. Dragged her father to the store and picked out a Kimber. Outscored Daddy on the license to carry practical.
Only time I ever had to pick a Marine up off the floor, not involving alcohol.
What a great story, Larry.
My late sister in law, all 5’0″, 100 lbs of her, carried a S&W 66, .357 magnum, short barrel. I inherited it, but I load it with .38 most of the time. Once in a while I try one cylinder of .357, but no more… it stings.

The reality is that the kid is too cool to be near mere adults.

Full size 1911 is the most common carry gun among my female friends.
