This caught my attention last Fall and I made a point of doing gelatin tests, then meeting DDupleks crew at SHOT show. 20ga slug is only 19.5g (2/3 oz) and its velocity is 450m/s (1475fps), so the recoil impulse is relatively light. Since each projectile is CNC machined from steel, its “petals” pivot against pre-set points and open up consistently without fragmenting. Expanded diameter is about 1 1/8″.
Give the miserable performance of generic hollow point slugs in 20ga (shallow penetration with excessive fragmentation) or the commonly available #3 buckshot (again, inadequate penetration), this makes my 870 Youth rather more useful.
I have an adorable little youth size 870 20ga. as well. I may have to pick some of these up and see how they go.
Do they come in .410? My son has a Taurus Judge for which this round would be awesome.
Yes — and they even expand from the short barrel.
Found them. Specifically for the Judge! Mien Gott. The ballistics are terrifying!

Что-то они мне напоминают некошерные пули “дум-дум” 😉
А вообще, для чего нужны ТАКИЕ пули?
How’s the penetration? Do they meet the FBI standards?
12ga penetrates about 26″ in gelatin. Not sure about the 20ga, but it has similar sectional density
Nice!
this is awesome. i’ve been looking for the perfect round for my “garage gun”.
