Hungary is considering liberalizing self-defense regulations

Communists had cause to keep us disarmed. A democratic country should show more confidence in its people.

    • Oleg Volk says:

  2. Wait…has Kit re-appeared from wherever she disappearred to (Whatever happened to the Warlords of Montana?), or is that an old picture?

  3. Craig Cassidy says:

Ah! The radiant Kit! Once again, I am captivated. Please translate for those of us minimal communication skills.

  4. What is that firearm on the left?

  5. Ivan says:

    • Oleg Volk says:

    • MicroBalrog says:

  6. Ivan says:

I didn’t know Kit spoke Hungarian.

  8. staghounds says:

Communists disarmed us. We should trust each other now that we are free.

The Russians disarmed us. Now we are free. Why are we still disarmed?

If we are free, why are we still disarmed?

  9. Ivan says:

It’s a legend, my friend. Just legend of Western Propagandists.

Did the russians disarm you? O my God! Good russian is dead russian, right? Good reason to destroy them. Just solve “russian question”. That’s what you want. right?

  10. MicroBalrog says:

I am not sure where you get this idea of resolving a “Russian question”.

But I suppose there are individuals who feel any criticism of something that happened in the past is wishing to “resolve a question”. The British tried disarm the Americans. The Americans revolted. Do you think people who support American independence hate British people and want to kill them all?

If I lived in a free country – I do not – and foreigners came and tried to disarm me, I would fight. Russians would also fight if foreigners came into their country. Why then cannot Hungarians resist if foreigners come into their country? Are Hungarians worse than Russians?

  11. Ivan says:

My words were about “the Russians tryed to disarm Americans”. Do you feel an incredible idiocrasy of this? So, I do. This is not issue about disarming of anybody. This is about unreasonable hate.

    • Oleg Volk says:

I have nothing against the Russians. I do have a very strong dislike for Soviets, Nazis and all other totalitarian ideologies. I view them as different in minor details but not in principle.

  12. Ivan says:

Really? “Minor details”? Like superiority of one nation (nazism) through genocide for others – and internationalism (soviet ideology) as a brotherhood for everybody. Is there no difference? Heh…

It’s awesome and sadly to see brainwashed people.

    • Oleg Volk says:

The practice of Soviet actions tended to differ considerably from theory. Their interventions in foreign wars were often as bloody as the German (example: Spanish Civil War), just that killings and imprisonments were done for reasons other than ethnicity. My view of them is also much worsened by having my family held captive in the USSR for all of my childhood — my parents wanted to leave since before I was born but were not allowed to do so until 1989. So I view the USSR as a slave-holder state. They may have been an improvement on the Third Reich but neither regime had much to recommend it. In other words, a pox on both!

  13. Ivan says:

You know, Oleg. I just don’t want to discuss. I asked you and understood your point of view. I’m not agree with it but I do respect it. I was born in 1972, I was in service in russian army. That means I’m not a teenager – I lived in USSR. And also I know the history of my family hardly-connected to the soviet reality. But! I’m here not to say you are wrong or right. You are in your own reality. I’m in my own one.

You are taking good pictures. That’s why I’m here. Let it go, OK?

And… I would like to ask you some question. At first, do you own all of your firearms, or somebody is providing them to you? Second, is it possible to come to you for a couple of pictures (me, my wife and doughter and my own gun)? I’m in New-York right now, and I don’t have any problems with US travel.

    • Oleg Volk says:

Yes, you and your family would be most welcome in my studio.

Some of the guns are mine, some belong to friends and a few to my advertising clients.

Oleg, I love the color treatment with the second model’s eyes, Very subtle, but lovely.
