    Not to knock cats or cat people (I was one of the latter for many years), but it’s hard to beat the unconditional joy and affection with which a good dog greets its owner.*

    (*) I use the term “owner” in a general sense; I’m pretty sure that my sheepdog does not look upon me as her owner. Probably more the other way ’round.

    @Mark: She’s a Belgian Malinois, just shy of a year old in that picture.
