Nice! I’m still looking at getting one of those.

Could be nice gun, but I’d never buy anything (new) from CZ-UB, and probably never anything at all.

Their company policy, in Czech Republic is selling guns 25% more expensive than in the US, after you discount differences due to VAT. They don’t need to do that – the Czech market is miniscule compared to the US one. They just do that because …? No idea really.

Most other major gun manufactures do the same – that’s the reason Glocks start at $800 and go up from there.

Some smaller companies do better- I bought a polymer framed semi auto, which I suspect to be better designed and more modern than anything ČZ or Glock ever made, for a price you could get a CZ-UB Duty pistol in the US.

They’re also rumored to sell locally solely their least good product according to quality control. I wouldn’t be surprised.

Selling QA rejects is certainly not a good thing to do.
As for selling at higher price, I don’t see a problem. Looks like the free market in action. For that matter, your response (don’t buy from them) is also free market in action.

I think I found my next 12 gauge. Thanks Oleg!

    Whoa, whoa, whoa…

I’ve bought a lot of CZs and new from the factory they are more accurate and functional out of the box than most other firearms. Also, considering that CZ does TWICE the volume than all US manufacturers combined, they have a great Quality record. As for the price hike, I’ve not heard anything about that and I work closely with CZ and thousands of CZ owners. CZ’s customer service is also very impressive. They go above and beyond to rectify any problems with their products. The price point for CZs are also routinely less than most other guns of lower quality. And in my opinion, damn near everything is lower quality than CZ. My wife and I both carry CZs every day and trust our and the lives of our children to their proven reliability. Maybe you should look twice at CZ and actually shoot some.

I’m talking about their practices here, in Czech Republic.

    a) you can look up the prices yourself

    b) I’ve shot CZ guns enough. I don’t find them that good.
Guns that cost 33% less perform equally well – Norincos, Alfa-Proj, etc

c)yeah- for you they might be cheap
Around here CZ is not cheaper than any brand perhaps except H&K and Sig Sauer. There is no reason to buy it either. .

    d) a number of people claim CZ-UB sells inferior product locally

    In this thread for example:
