I was told “the check is in the mail” a couple of months ago, and it hasn’t arrived from Central Florida yet. Two weeks ago, the same folks told me that they will actually have funds to pay at the end of June. Same result. They seem to be still in business, but I learned that they owe a month or two of salary to much of their staff.
I am about to publish an overview article that covers, in part, their flagship product. Would it be safe to assume the company will be bankrupt by the time the magazine comes out?
UPDATE: And it looks like they are Chapter 11. The owner told me they will re-organize. We’ll see…
I would request payment prior to publication, if they are that shady. I wonder how long staff will continue to work if they can’t feed their children? Not long, I would think.
AFAIK, they have no staff at this point and are taking payments for product they won’t and can’t deliver. In theory, they will call me tomorrow. I would be surprised if that happens.
If you know they are committing fraud(by accepting customer funds for products they have no plans to deliver), do you not feel you have some obligation to say something? Either to law enforcement, or at least to people online that might order these products?
Things are already in motion for that. Adding to it at this point is a waste of time.
I am verifying that right now. AFAIK, they are under investigation already.
I worked for Oath we all walked out last month. Owner is a theft and a liar.
Is the product good? Perhaps someone will buy the patents and resume production
Most of their designs are quite sound.
A co-worker’s wife worked for them. I haven’t spoken to her in a while, but at the time she hadn’t gotten paid in a month or so. So this has been an ongoing problem with them.
Well, darn.. I ordered two boxes of their 9mm ammo on Saturday and UPS tracking says the package is on the way..
That’s better than I expected. Let me know when you actually get it — if they are still shipping product, they might actually survive the reorganization.
Update: my order was delivered by UPS a day later than promised. The delay was a UPS issue, the trailer from FL to Los Angeles got in to the depot about 6 hours late…
Congratulations! Guess they are still operating while under Chapter 11 protection.
