Don’s Winchester 70 in .270 gets just under 1MOA with his handloads. It seemed appropriate to top it with a better scope than the scary optical contraption it had originally.
Now Bambi, Bambi’s mom and all other relatives are in danger of gracing our tables with their presence, right next to the corn and potatoes.
You couldn’t take a picture of a potato without spooking it, could you?
😀
The potato was already loaded into the cannon by then.
what a beautiful and magnificent tasty creature 🙂
Damn, that is one ugly dude, but the scope is really cool. Primary Arms as I recall. Illuminated reticle, 3×9- Bambi is in trouble this year.
Cam,
You have no idea! Can you imagine having to shave with that guy looking back at you from the mirror? Oh, the horror!
Awesome scope. I have a Primary Arms 1×4 on my 450 Marlin.

Yes Al, it is horrible.
The scope is fine, the gun is fine. But the mounting of that scope on that gun is wrong. Look at the shooter’s cheek weld. It’s not a cheek weld, it’s a lower mandible vague weld. That scope needs to be lowered, what looks like a full inch. Those look like Extra High Weaver Tactical rings. Or something similar. Get him the LOW versions or a different mounting set up all together to lower that optic, and his shooting will improve dramatically. Unless there is some reason he can’t mount a rifle to his cheek. (which sometimes happens to folks)
That mounting is 1.5″ lower than what he had previously and works well for him. I’d have moved mine lower, but it’s not my rifle.
that is one skinny deer…ribs showing; probably still trying to eat more to store fat for winter season
