  1. Ray says:

I don’t know what to be more impressed by, the Drilling or her “shell holders”

  2. Patrick says:

I never thought that a pair of 45s could hold 12 ga shells.

I thought the definition of “drilling” was a combination gun (one with both rifle and shotgun barrels) with three barrels. Apparently the term also includes firearms with three shotgun or three rifle barrels.

    Thanks.

  4. Robert says:

Larry is correct. I believe Chiappa makes a 2-barrel shotgun, but it shouldn’t be confused with an actual Drilling.

  5. Robert says:

That was supposed to say 3-barrel …

  6. Paul Koning says:

It is said that most defensive weapons use has the bad guy run away before a shot is ever fired. I’d say that this sort of weapon is likely to produce that result — breaking down a door only to be faced with THREE big barrels is likely to be pretty intimidating.

  7. Sven says:

I guess if you’re an “A” cup you can hold enough reloads for a single shot?

  8. Art out West says:

I had to laugh about the “shell holder”.

  9. John says:

“Driling” just means 3 barrels. From the German word for three. The Swiss used to have a three barreled AA gun they referred to as a drilling.

    • Paul Koning says:

I suppose that would be “Dreiling” (meaning “triplets”), which our friendly auto mangle (autocorrect) indeed does turn into “drilling”.

      • It got mangled into English, with the Empire’s utter disregard for authenticity and demand to pronounce everything “the English way,” even if the word wasn’t.

You still find Brits who say “Majorca” and “sachet” and “fajita” in phonetic English. Majj orca, satch ett, fadg eye ta
