    I’d like to see less.

    Heh!

MHI was the first book in a long time I dropped midway because the prose was too aggravating…

Then, it’s a first book, and authors are well-advised not to let copies of their first book lie around. It may become blackmail material later on..

Apart from that, mildy amusing escapism. The main character was totally clueless. A guy who
    a) spent a lot of time fighting in illegal fights
    b) spent his childhood learning to shoot
    c) was raised by a borderline crazy survivalist with military training
then insists half the book that he’s just a Joe Average who only wants to be an accountant.. Yeah… right.

I guess I’ll buy the next series the author starts..

Yes, the first series was gunnie pulp through and through. I read every single one.

      Twice.

The second series, The Grimnoir Chronicles, is even better.

I know…I mean who would want a character like that for their daddy?
      Guns are icky!

…Plus I hear Mr. Correia steals all the white women too.

      • Lanius says:

Would prefer to have a dangerous, terrorist gun/athletics nut as a father more than a superficially mild-mannered electronics geek.

If the intelligence level was the same…

I wonder how my (theoretical so far) kids will like ten miles of sunday trail-running(with packs) and having to reload my ammo about twenty years from now. I hope they’ll like it..
