Hanging out with the good people of Keltec this week

Most video and photos will be up upon my return, but here’s a little sample of today’s range time. Glassing the target:

The purpose of the 24″ barrel is reduced muzzle blast and about 200fps of added velocity over the 18″ model and nearly 300fps over 16″ rifles. Overall length is half an inch shorter than an AR10 with only a 16″ barrel.

    hee

with that scope? length of barrel is hardly an issue… seriously

  2. camtec says:

Are you sure of those figures? At 18 in. only 200fps loss over 24in. That is only 33fps per in.G77

Depends on the ammunition used, obviously. I went with conservative numbers.
Speaking of ammunition: this gun and the 18″ carbine both shot 4-5MOA with 1970s surplus but a single hole with Federal Gold Match. It took us some time to realize that trash ammo was at fault.

Someday I might SEE one of these, maybe before I turn 50. 🙂

Can you ask them, next time you see them, why they don’t bump production levels a bit? None of the gun stores I’ve talked to here in the PNW can even get their distributors to give them any guetimates on possible-maybe future deliveries. I’d really like to buy at least one of their bullet-launchers, and another would be a perfect match for a friend of mine. But vapor-ware doesn’t protect the house….

  6. TJ says:

I’d love to see them put half as much energy into maintaining consistent production as they do when producing vaporware.

Indeed. I know a dealer, he has had 2 PMRs sold for over a year. Can’t get one anywhere. Of all my gunning friends, I know of ONE guy that has actually fired a PMR. Don’t even ask about a RFB or a KSG.

They need to license their designs to someone with greater production capacity. At some point, pent-up demand becomes pitchforks and torches.

  10. Ring says:

the taper on the barrel looks a bit odd, but how does it group?
