In case of civil unrest, rioters would be well served to stay away from people with rings on their fingers. A single person might choose to retreat, but those who can’t maneuver due to kids would be more inclined to make a stand. They won’t feel guilty about removing any perceived threats to the kids and spouse.

I’ve been married for 21.5 years, have a disabled wife, and two daughters.

    I don’t wear a wedding ring.

And all this time I thought the armament would help keep us safe, silly me, I should have known a ring would work much better than that. Someone should let single mothers know as well that it’s the ring, not the firearm. They might not have gotten the memo either.

    • Oleg Volk says:

I don’t think you read me right. I am not saying that wedding rings keep anyone safe. I wrote that wedding rings tend to indicate married people who won’t flee as willingly. That doesn’t mean that people who don’t wear them are always going to be unmarried or that they would always bug out rather than fight. Just that this one indicator correlates to certain predispositions. Rioters can’t see rings from a distance anyway, so the note was more of a musing than an instruction to them.

funny comeback Lance….great play on words….

  2. This is the reason I started carrying.

Without kids I felt I could “take care of myself” and if I took a beating so be it, if I lost bad I may never know. With kids I may need to protect someone beyond my reach and if I take a beating I leave them unprotected in the presence of a bad man (or group) and if I loose bad they grow up without a dad.

    I can’t lose!

So what is the doohicky at the aft end of the ventral rails?

  4. anonymous says:

My ring has accessory rails on it.

  5. Will says:

Yeah, if you let rioters get close enough to see your ring, you’re doing it wrong!
