Updated Mosin

K31-style loop safety, Archangel stock, Micor flash hider. K31 safety is fairly awkward, but it’s a huge improvement on the original Mosin design. Turned-down bolt handle permits a low scope mount.

    What scope mount is that?

I like that, it appears very compact!

  3. Michael Ankenbrandt says:

Any idea what kind of MOA groups one could expect with the Mosin in the new stock?

  4. Rev. Joel+ says:

What type of magazine is this and how is fitted?

    • Nikolay Yermolenko says:

It looks like the one from SVT rifle. Same ctg.

    • Ted says:

The archangel stock comes with the capability to use proprietary detachable magazines. 5 and 10 rd capacity, single stack. They won’t fit in the SVT (I tried) without modification to either the receiver or the magazine…

  5. Rev. Joel+ says:

Ted…Thanks for the info. I’ll have to look into one of those.

Is that gun, with the turned down bolt handle and the different stock, any easier or faster to run than a stock Mosin?

    • Ted says:

It’s only easier/faster if you are running with this particular scope setup because you can’t use the stripper clips (faster reloads). You also get the 10 rd capacity with the large magazine vs the max of 5 you can load from a stripper clip.

I find the bolt operation is about the same (my skills are nothing to write to the motherland about though 😉 )

  7. Mike OTDP says:

Why bother? It’s still a Moisin-Nagant. If you’re going to put some serious work into a bolt gun, start with a SMLE, P-17, or K-31.
