The hand on the pistol does not say “peace”, it says “comply or you will be killed.” The peace officers in this country need to figure out how to get back to the Andy Griffith / Ponch and John presentation rather than one that is too often driven by fear or dominance.
The problem is simple: take the kid out of the picture and the officer’s pose is the SAME.
