Uzi loaded with tracers

Wherever he is, John Galt probably prefers a weapon with more range. The Uzi, especially with the solid wooden stock, does work all right to about 100 meters.

A little more forward lean would have been nice, but it worked out well enough.

Being able to correct aim by observation of tracers really helps. SBR tracers used here are still available. I think they are an excellent investment for training. Standard range tracers work to 75-100m, extended range to about 200.

Are the long-range ones restricted? I’m used to almost 1000-yard trace.

  2. Y. says:

I wonder – can you see tracers with just eyeballs on such a short distance? 300m/s, 10m, Flight time just 33 miliseconds ..

    • Oleg Volk says:

Yes, you can. The shooter can’t tell much from it but the instructor off on the side can.

    • LarryArnold says:

The flight of the bullet takes milliseconds, but the track of the tracer persists in the air for long enough to see. Plus, eyes work better than the typical video recorder.

Do be careful with tracers + dry vegetation.

NO John Galt fan would be following the slogan “Lean Forward” today for ANY reason!

  4. Bill P says:

    Hmm…. 147 9mm should = subsonic…

    Subsonic suppressed tracer hose… Mmmmm…… 😉

  5. Adam says:

Are those as filthy in terms of firearm cleaning as I’ve read? I’ve heard horror stories, complete tear downs, etc. I have no practical experience with them.

  6. Henry says:

John Galt (& Ayn Rand) would not have used guns:they preferred reason to force. I do too but there are problems with this.(1) ya gotta speak in a language the listener understands & some folks only speak the language of force.(2) the speaker must gain the listener’s attention:sometimes shoving a gun into someone’s face is the only way to get their attention.(3) you cannot reason with evil.
    It Is Written:”The ‘schlack-schlack’ of a 12-gauge pump is a universal language”.

SBRs in an SBR. (Or, well, what would be one if it wasn’t a machinegun.)
