I met Angel by chance late 2015, and we did the first photo shoot Spring of 2016.
Fast-forwarding to October 2017…she made pretty good progress with weaponcraft.

On the birthday of the author Amie Gibbons, her fans can get something special too: audiobook of Psychic Undercover, and the latest addition to that series, Psychic Spiral.
This is a 1954 Chinese type 53 (a clone of the Soviet M44 Mosin carbine). Somebody chopped the forend short, replaced the buttstock with an AKMS folding stock and a pistol grip of unknown provenance.
The end result is a rifle that’s nearly useless for bayonet fighting for lack of a grip space for the support hand, and rather unpleasant to fire thanks to the underfolding stock. That stock, already uncomfortable on the lower-powered, self-loading AKMS, was originally meant for an open bolt 9mm submachine gun (MP38/40) with almost no felt recoil. Every round fired from this bolt action is outright painful.
Southern Ballistic Research extended range 45ACP tracers combined with the low-recoil gas-operated Alpha carbine add up to fun and fearsome capability.

One of my longtime friends just turned 18. One advantage of dealing with well-raised home-schooled kids — they act like mature humans a lot sooner than most, so Grace and I have worked together since she was 12.
Thanks to various industry friends (Windham, Hi-Lux, Federal, others), her birthday was a little better equipped than most. This photo was made for the upcoming article illustrating how conservatives’ war on women is progressing…so far, they seem to be doing it all wrong. At least the tendency to get arms and training for young women appears counterproductive to the task of properly subjugating them.
The light nearest to the camera formed catchlights in an odd way, making the expression look more stressed than relaxed.

My psycho furbie Gremlin thinks he’s the top creature of the neighborhood. Occasionally, reality bites him as a reminder of other opinions.
CJ (10) and Shyanne (13) are what’s right with American youth. Smart, personable and more independent than many adults, they are my allies for winning the future from the authoritarian busybodies.

For the fans of Amie’s “The SDF Paranormal Mysteries” series can now enjoy book 5, Psychic Spiral (of Death). It’s a cozy mystery book with bits of ethical and political commentary thrown in. Amie’s wordcraft keeps improving so, if you liked the first book in that series, you will like the newer titles even better.
