Snapshots from North Italy
I am no early riser, so haze caused by the evaporation from Lake Como was a constant problem. Hundred fifty year old house, brand new antenna. My favorite Americans. Italian man listening to his uphill neighbor.
Girl’s fallen in with baaaaad company
Just look at those rogues! And the result? She’s running hippie-blessed 5.56mm instead of the good ol’ orthodox 7.62mm like a man! Disgusting, don’t you think?
Writer David Burkhead
I’ve only read “Hordes of Chanakra” so far and it was a 4/5 book, definitely good enough to try his other titles.

California girl in America
In the finest tradition of Japanese anime, running a belt through the M60 gets a big smile from a 14 year old girl. She showed good competency and safety habits…especially considering that was her first time ever on a range!

Shooting the breeze with friends
I will post the technical review later, but for now I just want to note how much I enjoy being able to both shoot and have a conversation with my friends at the same time.

Making America better, one immigrant at a time
Please read this statement from my friend Jing Zheng. In my opinion, he’s a brilliant inventor, a capable engineer and a great America in all but citizenship status. He was born in China by accident, while his commitment to our country … Continue reading

My friend Mike
Michael has a filter. He just doesn’t bother using it most of the time. He’s brilliant, so people overlook that to hear him talk more.

Guest post: A Lawyer’s Riff On The First Amendment
I Don’t Agree With What You Say, But I Will Defend To The Death Your Right To Say It. First thing’s first, basic disclaimer, because lawyers are so used to the legal world that we just assume people are waiting … Continue reading
Psychic Undercover (With The Undead): a new book by Amie Gibbons
A good read to have on a laptop or a tablet while traveling to SHOT show. 360 pages of urban fantasy entertainment with serious issues addressed at the same time. Vampires aren’t the only things that go bump in the … Continue reading

Good people I know
Three gunsmiths socializing in the manner to which they are accustomed. Scott cleans up well, so he’s showed up in quite a few of the commercial ads and editorials I’ve made. He’s pretty hardy, too.

50th birthday photos (NSFW)
I was impressed by both the attitude and the physical shape. This is a woman who’s raised kids and had enough self-discipline to work out to the point of being more fit than most youngsters.
Two legal persons, one body
While at dinner in Minneapolis, my parents and I sat next to conjoined twins. When I did a quick search for the question I had (which head controls which limbs), it turned out the articles were actually about the specific … Continue reading

Happy Thanksgiving!
Living in America is an awesome boon. Some of us paid for it, others had parents or more distant ancestors do the work for us. Either way, it’s worth celebrating. While this country has better parts and worse, there’s no … Continue reading
