Great date movie, and just interesting in general. Immigrants, in particular, would find certain moments of imperfect assimilation cringe-worthy.
Took about 30 photos with Canon 5D2 tonight, put the 16GB Sandisk Ultra card in the reader and it didn’t auto-mount. Removed it, it mounted as empty volume. Put it in the camera, it came up empty. Put it back in the PC, it mounted with standard camera directory structure (DCIM and MISC) but no image files. Ran Recuva to look at erased images, found plenty of old photos and videos but nothing at all from earlier today. The same camera was successfully used earlier in the day (with another card). I’ve not had problems with this card before. I am very puzzled by the absence of any trace of the afternoon photo shoot.
Any suggestions on recovering the image files? More importantly, any ideas on what caused this and how to avoid it in the future?

The problem with many anti-gun people is their inability to envision themselves as something other than those two roles. In countries where positive illustrations are unavailable due to restrictive laws, it’s hard to show by example. In the US, it is quite possible and should be leveraged to educate them.

This charismatic wood-worker’s shop is right across from Texas Weapon Systems, and she stopped by for a few minutes. The rifle is a Polish Tantal in 5.45mm, with an Aimpoint sight, and Magpul stock, sling and magazine loop. I will be taking range photos with her in November.

4.6x30mm round fires bullets in the 26-42 grain range at 2000-2400fps. Designed to penetrate soft body armor, it produces minimal felt recoil, especially when sound-suppressed. I haven’t seen sealed battlepacks since the South African 300-rounders. Now PPU is bringing them to the US. They look pretty useful for long-term storage.
