Felony by inaction.
The original definition of felony was “a serious crime punishable by over a year in prison”. In theory, felonies are actively committed. Prison or death are supposed to be reasonable punishments for misdeeds wilfully perpetrated. Two problems arise in practice. … Continue reading
Vicious enforcement of arbitrary laws.
The utterly illogical and pointless nature of the US gun laws can be illustrated with this simple example. Let’s take a gun owner who has an AR15 rifle. Since barrels are available in different lengths, the owner pays a $200 … Continue reading
vz58 shortie
A compact customization of vz58 carbine.
California girl in America
In the finest tradition of Japanese anime, running a belt through the M60 gets a big smile from a 14 year old girl. She showed good competency and safety habits…especially considering that was her first time ever on a range!

A quiet day in nature
I love Tennessee Autumn…mid-November with 70*F weather. The targets we set up in the woods get populated with lead and copper, but without our ears getting a beating. This rifle is one of five SU16s built by keltec in 300 … Continue reading

ATF Rule 41F cometh
In one week, new ATF rules (or whims) governing NFA trusts go into effect. I would like to recommend Matthew Bergstrom of Arsenal Attorneys for doing trust re-statements. That way, you will not risk a paperwork violation and be able … Continue reading
Are machine guns really that hard to control?
So many on our side of the gun control fight have despaired of ever getting automatic weapons deregulated to pre-1934 state that they make excuses for the enemy. “Automatics are uncontrollable anyway”, they way. “A waste of ammunition”. It’s a … Continue reading

This is why I look forward to Mondays
This video was made yesterday in my neighbor’s back yard. Origin 12 home. My older video about it. Another video from the same day.
Photos from range day with Faxon
I promised photos. The gun runs at about 700rpm and remains controllable. Trigger is good enough for squeezing off single rounds in auto mode, though we shot 2-4rd bursts most of the time. Beta testing showed full compatibility. And, of … Continue reading
ATF trying to make NFA compliance process even more onerous
This time, by restricting NFA trusts. You can comment on their web site. Here’s an example of a constructive comment written by my IP attorney Glenn Bellamy, aka Armorer at Law. Rob Allen and Joe Huffman also have sample letters … Continue reading
Kel-Tec SU16D short-barreled rifle in action
The boring reliability is why an SU16 is my go-to rifle.
Twelve times twelve
Another Coal Creek Saiga with a 12-round SGM magazine. I haven’t chronographed this gun, but other people’s data indicates drop of muzzle velocity from 1250fps to about 1000. Seems like a reasonable trade for the small length. Fans of longer … Continue reading
Another 12GA shortie
Also seen at Coal Creek Armory, a Saiga 12 with 8″ barrel and 12-shot magazine.
Don’t end up like Reginald Denny.
SU16D12 The rail was designed by a Kel-tec employee and is one of several made for evaluation. The carbine can be fired with one hand if necessary and runs great with the 60-round Surefire magazine. I’d probably prefer a lighter … Continue reading
Keltec SU16D: a weapon for tight spots
SU16D has either a 9″ or a 12″ barrel (shown). With a sort stock, a 60-round magazine and a red dot sight, it’s quite a rapid room-cleaner. Loud, too.
