Meco holster and Boberg XR9-S

Boberg XR9-S “platinum” edition. It’s the most advanced pistol design out there, with a long barrel in a short slide, excellent trigger, great accuracy and minimal felt recoil. I am very much a fan.

I mentioned Meco holsters before. 1 | 2 Robert does a great job with leather.

When the belt is cinched, the holster lays flat against the body.

Offensive

Of all offensive legal and political concepts, permit to work has to be among the worst. It’s absence gives people the choice between begging and perishing. Hopefully, with the increased amount of work done on-line and across borders, the state’s ability to enforce this travesty would decline.

Armed with a gun she made.

Kaitlyn Lemmons is a 07 manufacturer. She made the semi-auto closed bolt PPSh42 that’s in her hands. I was very impressed by the quality of the weapons she produces.

Ever wondered where all those Keltec rifles end up?

The zombies are hoarding them for the apocalypse. Preferred caliber is 300Blackout, of course. When the night of the living dead comes, they won’t have to stumble around hoping to snag a slow human. Why try to catch the brain carrier when they could knock the brain right out of the skull with hydrostatic pressure and then savor at leisure. Ten foot tall zombies with guns. There ought to be a law or something!

Does this look heavy to you?

She doesn’t seem to have much trouble aiming the rifle with a scope and a 50rd drum. The rest of us might just need a few more minutes of daily exercise.

I like Tennessee. I get to work with models who show up wearing their own M1911s in .45ACP, and who are already competent with assorted weapons.

A dreaded assault pistol (by California law)

This 1910 Bergmann, a 6-shot 9mm pistol, is ruled a banned assault weapon by California regulations. Semi-automatic with magazine outside the grip is evil incarnate in the eyes of their lawmakers. That’s a pretty crazy, but then what isn’t about California lawmakers these days…

Device 06H

Experimental German rifle made in 1944, the first of the roller-lock delayed blowback designes that eventually became CETME and HK .308s. This one is in 7.92×33. It’s crude, simple and works well. Recoil is minimal, with two distinct stages. Sights are simple and I found them hard to see on dark backgrounds.

I shot a couple of rounds sitting at 25 yards to check zero. Zero checked out. Ammo: 123gr FNM.

These were taken during video filming in cooperation with Forgotten Weapons.

SU16 available in 300Blackout chambering.

300Blackout is very attractive for short range (which is where 99 point something percent of defensive uses happen). It throws twice the lead of the .223Rem at reasonable velocity (ballistics approximate 7.62×39 but bullet selection is better). While subsonics are available for suppressed use, I would think the barrel twist would be optimized for one or the other, and SU16 is probably meant for 115-125gr range more than for the 220gr. AR15 magazines work, so less logistical overhead on that. The down side to 300BLK are the cost of ammunition, about $10/20 at this time vs. $6.50/20 for .223 (comparing same brand and bullet type). Less flat trajectory won’t come into play under 150 yards, while much better barrier penetration probably would. SU16 is a lot like vz58 in 7.62×39, short, light and handy. For iron sight use, minimal offset over bore should help with accurate shot placement. Piston design helps to keep the action clean: I can’t remember when I last cleaned my .223 SU16s, but they keep on working despite the extra fouling associated with sound suppression.

Availability? Depends entirely on your local gun shop, as Keltec sells through distributors and the store can go to several sources. I see plenty of SU16s in .223 locally, I assume 300BLK version would become more common shortly.

The optic shown is a Vortex Razor.
