A bad day in the French countryside
When the bolt stays forward on your last machine pistol magazine, it’s going to be a bad day…but probably not for very long.
Swag for CZ fans
The tshirt is from 1791 Apparel, the hat is from CZ-USA. The pistol is CZ75 Compact, the rifle is CZ455 Trainer.
Accessorized Tavor
Top rail designed to match AR15’s height over the stock comb for comfortable sight picture, a small side rail and a hollow forend with integral weapon light: all made by my friend Paul’s Gear Head Works. 9mm Tavor conversion … Continue reading
Beretta CX4 Storm carbine
A friend’s article with my photos is up on AllOutdoor
Upgrading a rail-less M1911
Iver Johnson 9mm Eagle M1911 with a Recover grip/accessory rail combination. The original 9mm is the bottom pistol. Changeover took about two minutes, the resulting grip is slightly thicker than the original and a little softer in the hand.
Not an Operator.
My friend isn’t Army, Marines or special operations ninja. Instead of a short-barreled MP5, a Sub2000 has to suffice. It works. Keltec weapon light on a rail forend, 50 round drum that actually functions, red dot sight, extended charging handle, … Continue reading
Alexandria behind the gun
M98K Mauser carbine, Walther P38 pistol. As usual, don’t pull a trigger on live ammo without eye and ear protection…unless fighting for your life.
Pistol bayonet revived
Pistol bayonets date back to at least the 17th century and as recently as WW1. Useful or silly, they make great gag gift and definitely turn heads at the range. And, of course, the zombie edition.
Carrying laser-equipped pistols
Lasers are useful, but most of them mount of rails and so require different holsters from the plain pistols. This M&P Shield with Lasermax CenterFire is a handy sidearm, but none of my old holsters would accommodate it. Enter three … Continue reading
Beretta M9
“Waking a person unnecessarily should not be considered a capital crime. For the first offense, that is.” – Robert Heinlein
Beretta CX4 Storm 9mm carbine
Gertrude first appeared in my photos almost twelve years ago. Storm 9mm carbine has little recoil and is easy to configure for left or right hand ejection. One of my friends has an article about it coming up, I will … Continue reading
Home alone? Not quite.
The pistol is a classic CZ75B.
Speaking of good holsters for uncommon guns…
…last year, I needed holsters for two FMK pistols. Turned out that Alessi is one of the very few companies making them. Since I carry Kahr P9 often and G26 sometimes in their leather — and it’s still like new … Continue reading
Force multiplier
A 52 year old woman, no matter now well trained, would be hard pressed to keep up with young men who make up the majority of violent criminals. Add a Glock to her hip and a .308 rifle to her … Continue reading

This is why I like Boberg XR9
The gun is small, light, has a good trigger and very low recoil. First, I tried it on paper. Rapid fire from 21ft shows lack of trigger control on my part, I am still not used to DAO triggers. That … Continue reading
