BAZ45 in newbie hands
This is one centerfire rifle I try to bring out when teaching newbies. This gas-operated 45ACP rifle feeds from “grease gun” magazines and has no more recoil than a 10-22. Bazooka Bros. | Primary Arms red dot | Midwest Industries … Continue reading

Other equipment details
AXTS receiver, Aimpoint M3 in a Bobro QD mount, Magpul BUIS, QD sling and rail sling adapter, Rainier Arms upper, Samson rail (exclusive to Rainier EVO series). Below, Magpul Pmag in a Bladetech mag holder. In addition to the two … Continue reading
Fun plinker
Tactical Solutions .22 upper, Primary Arms 1-4x scope, Black Dog Machine “everlasting” billet magazine.
Your rifle doesn’t have to swim in gun oil to work
The rifle shown with the Armatac drum is mine. Thanks to the Timney trigger and free-floated barrel, it shoots very well. Instead of the unmagnified EOtech holographic sight shown in the video, I use a 3.5-15x Nightforce scope.
A mix-master AR15
When a rifle isn’t handy, a tshirt referencing it keeps a body warm. Much to the disappointment of some readers of this blog. For those who have a leather fetish, both the holster and the belt are by Galco. Judging … Continue reading

AXTS ambidextrous receiver
AXTS AX556 receiver duplicates magazine and bold releases on both sides. Seems useful to me. Both additional controls are fenced to avoid accidental activation.

Rimfire AR15
Rifle put together by Infinite Arms (Last Vegas, NV) with CMMG, Magpul and Primary Arms components. The shooter is the mother of the little girl from my previous post.

Good practice set-up
.22 rimfire upper, 50rd drum, 1-4x scope and a stable firing position. Quiet, low-recoil, cheap to shoot.
Rifles so black they are pink
All these from the recent Doublestar shoot.
JP muzzle brake
It is loud but it is effective. This guy was firing rapidly while in complete control of the recoil. Not surprising, considering JP founder and his sons shoot 3-gun matches.
Fun guns
SAR21 bullpup rifle with integral laser (Singapore). Built-in 2x scope. Very nice ergonomics, including ambidextrous charging handle. Semi/auto switch is a cross-bolt in the stock. 9mm AR is good for practicing at pistol-only firing ranges.
Visiting with Double Star/J&T
In the past two days, I filled a 16GB card with photos of DS products in studio and on the range. Here’s the first sample: Nightforce 3.5-15x scope, Armatac 150rd CL drum, Double Star back sights and Harris bipod.
